Charity muggers?

"Chuggers" which I take to be a blend word from "charity" and "mugger" refers to charity street selers and their aggressive techniques. Is the word here to stay? I would have said not, but after it appeared in The Times on Monday, it was the subject of an item on Sky News on Tuesday. I liked the scornful dismissal of Michael Gove's determination to introduce into England the educational policies of Singapore as "policy tourism"
